Formula One’s governing body said on Friday that Red Bull had been penalised $7 million for violating the league’s budget restrictions but will not have any points removed from their 2021 standings. Also, Red Bull’s allowed aerodynamics research will be cut by 10% as part of the penalty.

With Max Verstappen at the wheel, the team overspent by 1.86 million euros ($2.15 million) in 2021, according to the FIA.
